Learning Strategies

The Primary School Program focuses on creating a learning environment that:

• Encourages and reinforces students’ responsibility towards their own safety and the safety of their peers,
• Ensures students’ active participation in Chapels,
• Empowers students to build a positive sense of identity as Christians,
• Who glorify the Lord in all they do and utilise all resources God gave them in a manner that honours God,
• Facilitates inquiry of knowledge and application of skills,
• Attends to individual needs, as well as collective needs of learners in all year levels,
• Attends to Australian needs and interests, as well as facilitating acquisition of international requirements and challenges to live in this day and age,
• Inspires students to grow into self-autonomous learners,
• Supports the learning of students with learning needs,
• Provides support and multiple programs to maximise improvement of EAL students,
• Focuses on literacy and numeracy skills to empower students to develop a strong foundation before they move to upper primary years and secondary years,
• Fosters creative thinking and creativity in Music, Performing Arts and Visual Arts,
• Promotes health and active life style and fitness through the Physical Education Program and included activities, such as swimming and sports programs and carnivals, and
• complements learning in classroom with incursions, excursions and camps.
