Learning Strategies

The Middle School Program focuses on creating a learning environment that:

• encourages and reinforces students’ responsibility towards their own safety and the safety of their peers,
• ensures students’ active participation in Chapels,
• empowers students to build a positive sense of identity as Christians, who glorify the Lord in all they do and utilise all resources God gave them in a manner that honours God,
• facilitates inquiry of knowledge and application of skills,
• emphasises academic excellence and achievement,
• attends to individual needs, as well as collective needs of learners in all year levels,
• attends to Australian needs and interests, as well as facilitating acquisition of international requirements and challenges to live in this day and age,
• inspires students to consolidate their skills as self-autonomous learners,
• supports the learning of students with learning needs,
• provides support and multiple programs to maximise improvement of EAL students,
• focuses on literacy and numeracy skills to empower students to develop a strong foundation before they move to their secondary years of education,
• fosters creative thinking and creativity in Music and Visual Arts,
• promotes health and active life style and fitness through the Physical Education Program and included activities, such as tennis Program, Lunchtime Sports, swimming and sports programs and carnivals, and
• complements learning in classroom with Lunchtime Clubs, incursions, excursions and camps.
