Principal's Daily Message

20th May 2021

Holy Resurrection and Season of Pentecost

During these fifty days since the Feast of Holy Resurrection we live the great Joy of the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Resurrection gives us assurance of the Great Joy of being sons and daughters of the Lord. We are supported and filled by His Love. Faith in our Resurrected Lord gives us the real Rock to rely on in our journey throughout this world. We are also filled by His Wisdom to be able tp witness for Him and lead others to know and love Him. The Holy Spirit is guiding and supporting us through the tribulations of this world

Welcome to St Mary’s Coptic Orthodox College, SMCOC!

Our College was founded in 1991 to provide academic and schooling experiences that foster and develop an awareness of Christ and His teachings in a safe and nurturing Christian Coptic Orthodox environment, where maintaining the Coptic identity and the teaching of the Coptic Orthodox faith and Coptic language will be embedded in life at the College.

Since then, we have been true to the foundations and principles on which the College was founded. We do our utmost to provide a positive atmosphere in which children and young people can grow and learn, developing a high level of personal integrity and a sincere respect for others regardless of their background, academic performance or circumstances.

At SMCOC, we respect and appreciate the value of each person as an individual and support our students to discover their God-given talents and purpose in life, so that they are not easily influenced by the changing values around them. Children and young people are encouraged and supported to develop self-respect, self-determination, personal initiative and a sense of belonging to their family and community, to prepare them to be honourable citizens in society

and in the global community.

Our holistic approach to education and schooling caters for the development of the whole person - academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually. We strive to meet the unique needs of our students through providing the best educational programs, positive learning experiences and wellbeing support, to equip our students and see them flourish and achieve their potential.

Our College is committed to creating a culture of child safety to minimise or eliminate, as much as possible, the risk of harm to children and young people. Our Staff are caring professionals who respect students and are committed to students’ safety, wellbeing and learning.

If you wish to visit us and learn more about our College, you may contact the office and we will arrange an appointment to meet and tour the College facilities.

Come and see…
